Erik Bauer
PhD Student
Erik Bauer is a PhD student in Computer Science at Stanford University, advised by Prof. Marco Pavone. His research revolves around a data-centric view of robot learning to obtain a principled understanding of how training data influences outcomes in diverse tasks that robots can perform. Through a better understanding of data, Erik aims to drive robotic data flywheels to enable continous self-improvement.
Prior to joining Stanford, Erik obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering and an MSc in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zurich, where he worked on aerial manipulation and dexterous manipulation at the Soft Robotics Lab. He also interned at BMW and mimic robotics.
Outside of research, you can find Erik on the Stanford tennis courts, going on runs, bike rides and exploring new places around the globe.
